Service description
The sensory analysis lab is a space exclusively dedicated to the handling and sensory evaluation of food. It can be used for sensory testing and for the preparation of any type of food matrix intended for human consumption, including the preparation of food for nutritional studies.
It is located in the atrium of the Food Science Research Institute (CIAL). It has two independent rooms corresponding to the food preparation room and the sensory evaluation room.
The food preparation room has storage space above (seven modules) and below (three modules). In addition, it is equipped with a worktop, sink, dishwasher, refrigerator with freezer and a cabin with carbon filters for the preparation of flavored food matrices.
The sensory evaluation room has eight individual booths facing each other (4 and 4) in a single central module. Each booth is equipped with running water and a sink, as well as different colored lights that are regulated by a separate remote control for each booth. The room is equipped with 8 chairs, 2 electric plugs in the central module where the cabins are located and 3 additional plugs in the room space. The room is also equipped with blinds on the glass wall, except in the door area.
