With respect to its actions, the 1st Plan for Equality between women and men at CSIC was approved in December 2013 as a result of a process of reflection on the existing needs to guarantee effective equality.
CSIC has its own Equality Plan, made by CSIC Delegate Committee for Equality (hereinafter CDI), a joint body which function is to get to know, dealing with and reporting on any of the issues and matters referred to in the policy areas of the mentioned Plan. This Plan is annually evaluated with the aim of getting to know its degree of success and, in its case, reformulate its fixed objectives, indicators and measures. The existence of this Equality Plan allows CSIC to participate in Horizon Europe Framework Program (HE) and make incorporation for gender dimension easier in research, mandatory aspect in European projects.
In CSIC we have developed other initiatives related with improving conciliation with family and professional life, articulation of a protocol against sexual harassment, communication and non-sexist language, the creation of an equality committees’ network, etc. Since 2018 we carry out calls for the award of the Gender Equality Accreditation Distinction for institutes with the best practices in this area. We advocate for and practice zero tolerance policy against sexual harassment and gender based. In case anyone detects behaviors and conducts that could be included within the sexual harassment concept or gender based, could make use of Prevention and intervention protocol against sexual harassment or due to sex at CSIC.
