Stable Radicals. Structural Study and Practical Applications

Stable Radicals. Structural Study and Practical Applications

Design and synthesis of stable radicals, mainly centered on the carbon atom, which allow to be handling and storing as regular compounds. The stable radicals find a wide range of practical applications, ranging from their use as agents of polarization for Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP) in NMR experiments or in the molecular probes 'spin labelling' making use of the Electronic Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR), up to the synthesis of organic compounds and/or non-metallic polymers, such as magnetic materials with high Tc, in the field of molecular magnetism.

Organometallic Chemistry: Structure Reactivity and Homogeneous Applications

Organometallic Chemistry: Structure Reactivity and Homogeneous Applications

The QUIMERA Group emerged from the Organometallic Chemistry and Homogeneous Catalysis Group founded by Prof. Ernesto Carmona in the Department of Inorganic Chemistry in the Universidad de Sevilla at the beginning of the 80's. The group moved to the Instituto de Investigaciones Químicas in 1996, when this research institute was created. Since then this Group has worked on several research lines in Organometallic Chemistry and Homogeneous Catalysis.

GROUP OF DEVELOPMENT OF CATALYSTS FOR INDUSTRIALLY RELEVANT PROCESSES

Fundamental and applied studies on Coordination and Organometallc Chemistry oriented towards the development for new processes, such as olefin polymerization, or selective transformations renewable chemical feedstocks, that are of high interest for the Chemical Industry
Main specialization

Wildlife ecology and management

Wildlife ecology and management

Our research is focused on establishing scientific bases for reconciling wildlife conservation with the sustainable use of renewable natural resources, and solving conflicts between certain human activities (hunting, agriculture) and biodiversity conservation. The group, therefore, has a multidisciplinary focus, including empirical, experimental and modelling approaches, in the fields of applied ecology, conservation biology, conservation genetics, and socio-economics.
