Biomaterials

Preparation and design of biomaterials in the biomedical field. Particularly, the Group activities are devoted to the design and preparation of polymeric biomaterials for tissue engineering applications, systems for the controlled release of bioactive compounds and drugs and synthesis polymeric drugs. The activities are focused on the modification of biomedical devices and prepartion of functional acrylic cements for orthopaedic surgery, bioactive polymeric coatings for coronary stents, abdominal meshes, etc, self-assembled nanoparticles for the local treatment of cancer and systems with anti-thrombogenic, anti-angiogenic or anti-bacterial activities.
