Combustion and Gasification
Combustion and Gasification
Research is focuses on the development of clean energy generation processes without CO2 emissions from different fuels, mainly biomass and renewable wastes.
Energy or syngas generation through combustion and gasification processes are investigated, emphasizing environmental aspects and process optimization. Advanced decarbonization processes are explored for the combustion of renewable fuels to achieve negative CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, necessary to achieve the Paris Agreement targets.
Existing decarbonization processes have a high energy penalty and CO2 capture costs.
