Experimental High Energy Physics at Colliders

The group of Experimental High Energy Physics at Colliders has as main scientific motivation the study of the fundamental interactions in particle physics. Its main chracteristic is the us of accelerators and high performant detectors that allow to reproduce the conditions and productions of the reactions under study. The group cooperates activily and is a pillar member in most of the front-end experiments of the field and in the proposals for future experiments. Its expertise, know-how and local infrastructures enable the group to cover with relevant contributions the following areas: accelerator design and instrumentation, software and distributed computing for data processing, detector instrumentation and operation, and physics data analysis. In aaddition the group also seeks for contributions in more applied activities which are technologically related with those developed for its fundamental research. They include medical physics and acelerator applications to industry.
