Elastomer Group

Elastomer group has a national unique position because it is the only one specialized exclusively in rubber science and technology. The focus of the research is the design and development of new elastomeric materials for advanced applications. In order to achieve that goal, this multidisciplinary group combines all the necessary specialized expertise from the synthesis to the complete characterization of these materials by developing novel cutting-edge methods. Due to the long experience in this field, the developed research covers the full spectrum from basic research to industrial application. This combination of science and technology makes possible a close cooperation with the rubber industry to improve and develop their commercial products. The increasing importance of this group at international level is demonstrated by the number of international collaborations and its inclusion in international consortiums.
