The group aims to establish a connection between the social and the natural sciences as part of a comprehensive, interdisciplinary and sustainable approach applied to agrobiological practices and processes from a combined anthropological and sociological perspective.. It seeks to understand the processes by which traditional agricultural products generate representations of quality, forms of differentiation in the market, and finally allow the valorisation of the product.
The IPP research group "Citizens and Institutions" is a consolidated team, with a top-level international research trajectory. The group's mission is to generate knowledge about the social and political mechanisms that explain the relationship between institutions and citizenship in Spain, within the context of the institutions of the European Union, as well as in the broader scope of democratic societies.
Governance, collective action and political participation: challenges of contemporary democracy
DEMOCRETS is part of the SOCIETY research area of the CSIC. From sociology and political science, its members analyze: (a) the new forms of citizen intervention in public affairs, (b) the governance strategies of the immigration fact, and (c) the political and social action, participation and representation in democratic and authoritarian contexts. These three lines of work contribute to several of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, especially No. 10 (reduce social inequality) and No. 16 (build responsible institutions).
Social Identity, Subjective well-being and Behavior
The long baggage accumulated by the research group in the field of social and health policies has facilitated the current focus on the study of social identity, subjective well-being and human behavior and its influence on the end of life process, specifically in "rights of exit" (euthanasia, assisted suicide, etc.), as in the social dimension of pain.
The research group on the sociology of innovation studies the social conditions that contribute to innovative societies both in economic and social terms. It focuses on the elements of social and cultural structure that shape innovation systems and their effects in knowledge generation, knowledge transfer and diffusion of innovation in firms, public administrations and non-governmental institutions.
The ATMA group was created in 2009 by initiative of Dr. Navarro García after having launched, some years before, a Permanent Seminar of the same name. The group’s activities have been focused on creating a space for discussion that will encourage unprecedented research activities in the field of water from multiple perspectives and scopes. With all that it has been attempted to leak beyond theme barriers in order to pursue crossed-line researches.
Open science, open access and the lifecycle of research data
Open science is based on the openness of the research life cycle from its conception till its implementation, communication and preservation of its outputs, including research data
Quantitative analysis in Science and Technology (ACUTE)
The ACUTE team carries out research in the field of quantitative studies of science and technology, with special interest in the development of bibliometric indicators suitable for the study of the research process and the analysis of the activity of researchers, teams and centres in different disciplines. Likewise, methodological advances relating to the treatment of information and the design of indicators constitute an essential transversal line in the group's activity.
