The group aims to establish a connection between the social and the natural sciences as part of a comprehensive, interdisciplinary and sustainable approach applied to agrobiological practices and processes from a combined anthropological and sociological perspective.. It seeks to understand the processes by which traditional agricultural products generate representations of quality, forms of differentiation in the market, and finally allow the valorisation of the product.

The IPP research group "Citizens and Institutions" is a consolidated team, with a top-level international research trajectory. The group's mission is to generate knowledge about the social and political mechanisms that explain the relationship between institutions and citizenship in Spain, within the context of the institutions of the European Union, as well as in the broader scope of democratic societies.

Governance, collective action and political participation: challenges of contemporary democracy


DEMOCRETS is part of the SOCIETY research area of ​​the CSIC. From sociology and political science, its members analyze: (a) the new forms of citizen intervention in public affairs, (b) the governance strategies of the immigration fact, and (c) the political and social action, participation and representation in democratic and authoritarian contexts. These three lines of work contribute to several of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, especially No. 10 (reduce social inequality) and No. 16 (build responsible institutions).

The ACUTE team carries out research in the field of quantitative studies of science and technology, with special interest in the development of bibliometric indicators suitable for the study of the research process and the analysis of the activity of researchers, teams and centres in different disciplines. Likewise, methodological advances relating to the treatment of information and the design of indicators constitute an essential transversal line in the group's activity.
