PIF2024 - LA RESISTENCIA HACIA LA IGUALDAD DE GENERO EN EUROPA - PID2023-147429OB-I00

We invite applications from excellent candidates with a strong interest in the field of politics and gender for a 4 year full time PhD fellowship starting in January 2025 (tentative) to develop a doctoral dissertation at the IPP (CSIC) as part of the research project: ‘Unravelling gender equality resistance in Europe (GENEQ_RESIST)’ _funded by the Spanish State Research Agency (Reference: PID2023-147429OB-I00). The PhD project will be supervised by Marta Fraile (CSIC, IPP) The project provides a new framework to examine variations in gender equality resistance, facilitating the identification of factors that drive individuals’ attitudes towards progress in gender equality. Notably, a significant portion of the population appears to oppose specific policies aimed at addressing existing gender inequalities in society, such as the adoption of quotas in workplace and political selection processes. This project seeks to identify the key features and characteristics of this anti-genderism in Europe, taking into account both individual and contextual influences. The selected candidate will be encouraged to develop their research ideas within the scope of the project
