Synthetic Structural Biology
Our research group investigates the design and engineering of biological systems through an integrated approach combining structural biochemistry, synthetic microbiology, and computational protein design. We explore the potential of novel enzymes and enhanced microbial platforms for applications in biomedicine, biotechnology, and environmental sustainability. Our methodologies encompass structural biology techniques—including cryo-EM and X-ray crystallography—microbial engineering, and computational protein design, focusing on understanding and leveraging biological processes to develop new functional components, such as engineered enzymes and modified bacterial surface structures like flagella
