Nanomaterials and Spectroscopy Group

The main mission of the Group is to conduct world-class basic and applied research in nanophotonics and novel nanomaterials with the focus on the mechanisms and applications of light harvesting and energy transfer/conversion on the nanoscale. Present-day research is devoted to the development of advanced new nanomaterials and metamaterials based on hybrid organic/inorganic systems for various applications such as novel highly efficient single-photon sources, multi-photon states, nanostructures with strongly enhanced light-matter interaction, functional nanomaterials for photochemical conversion (artificial photosynthesis) and nanoparticle-based optical signal transducers for biosensing (liquid biopsy).
