MULTITROPHIC AQUACULTURE, NUTRITION AND DIVERSIFICATION

The AQUAMIND research group is made up of researchers and technicians from the El Bocal Marine Aquaculture Plant of the Santander Oceanographic Centre who, since 2016, have begun to transform the line of research followed until then, which focused mainly on solving various problems in the farming of flatfish such as turbot and sole and technology transfer to the industrial sector towards new lines of research such as polychaetes farming and multi-trophic aquaculture. At present, the main lines of research are 1. AQUACULTURE OF LOW TROPHIC LEVEL SPECIES AND BIOEXTRACTIVE AQUACULTURE. 2. NUTRITION AND FEEDING IN AQUACULTURE. 3. DIVERSIFICATION OF AQUACULTURE PRODUCTION: STUDY AND DEVELOPMENT OF FARMING TECHNIQUES FOR NEW FISH SPECIES.
