Marine Chemistry

The research activities of the Marine Chemistry Group (QUIMAR) are mainly focused on aspects related to oceanography, biogeochemistry of the water column and sediments, as well as exchanges between the ocean and the atmosphere. The objective is to contribute to promoting new knowledge on the functioning and dynamics of seas and oceans, including processes in the water column and the interactions with other compartments (sediment, atmosphere and continental influence), through participation in research activities and research projects, in cooperation with other groups of the IEO (CSIC) and/or other centers and institutions, to respond to the needs for the development of new scientific knowledge, as well as its diffusion and dissemination. Scientific training is also an important part of the activities developed by this research group.
