Energy conversion, harvesting and storage

Activity related to the conversion and storage of energy in electrochemical devices (fuel cells, rechargeable lithium batteries and supercapacitors). Hydrogen storage in metal hydrides. Having new electrode materials with remarkable electrochemical properties, safe and respectful with the environment is fundamental for the development of new electrochemical accumulators (batteries / supercapacitors) and sustainable energy conversion devices (fuel cells). These devices are fundamental to promote the large-scale use of renewable energies and the electrification of transport, in addition to combating the feared climate change and reducing environmental pollution. For this, it is necessary to design sustainable synthesis methods and characterize the structure, morphology and properties of the new materials, which we intend to implement in advanced prototypes.
