Comprehensive study of Active Geological Processes with modeling, artificial intelligence and remote sensing techniques

The active geological processes that are addressed by the members of the group include phenomena of land subsidence, seismicity, landslides and rock falls, volcanism, as well as others related to hydrogeology such as droughts and overexploitation of aquifers. To study its impact, we develop and optimize mathematical tools such as: numerical models based on physical and/or chemical processes; spatiotemporal statistical models; artificial intelligence techniques, in particular machine learning algorithms. A key contribution of the group is the implementation, analysis and exploitation of satellite data, highlighting InSAR data (Satellite Radar Interferometry), and giving priority to the application of the Copernicus-CEMS (Copernicus Emergency Management Service) services of the European Union.
