Coal and waste carbonization group

The work carried out in this research group is aimed at both basic and applied research. The group belongs to the Department of Technologies for the energy transition. The work carried out gives great importance to the environmental impact of the coking process and to the use of wastes, using them either as additives in coking blends or for the preparation of carbon materials. In this context, the group works in four lines of research: 1. Optimization of the inclusion of wastes in coking mixtures by means of densification by briquetting, especially lignocellulosic biomass. 2. Hydrothermal carbonization of biomass residues to prepare bio-carbon. 3.Materials for energy and environmental applications
