Applied Hydrogeology and Shallow Geothermal Energy

The Group's objective is to transfer groundwater knowledge to other public administrations, prívate law entities and to society in general, helping to solve problems in relation to groundwater resources and the development of renewable energies related to groundwater. It includes conventions and agreements with public administrations, technological support contracts and research projects, in addition to the updating of the IGME Waters Database and the Mobile Hydrogeology Unit. The Group develops research in shallow geothermal energy, providing innovative solutions to the great challenge of global change and the ecological and energy transition. He has extensive experience in the field of shallow geothermal energy, has been and continues to be a pioneer in Spain in its theoretical development and application, in collaboration with other public bodies. IGME's role in this line is also recognized internationally through projects under the Horizon 2020 program of the European Union.
