Identification and estimation of abundance of bacteria per sample (identification of the 20 most abundant strains):
Molecular identification of bacteria is based on 16S rDNA which classifies at genus or species level. This study provides information on the abundance of genera and species in each sample.
Identification and estimation of fungal abundance per sample (identification of the 20 most abundant strains):
Molecular identification of eukaryotes is based on 18S rDNA or the ITS region (ITS1 and ITS2 intergenic spaces) to identify fungi, yeasts or algae. This study provides information on the abundance of genera and species in each sample.
