Gerty T. Cori

Studied at German University of Prague where she met Carl Ferdinand Cori, whom she married in 1920.

In 1922 they both emigrated to the United States and in 1947 they shared the Medicine and Physiology Nobel with Bernardo Alberto Houssay for their research works about carbon hydrates metabolism and the hormonal influence in sugar and starch interconversion in the organism.
