Gerty T. Cori

Studied at German University of Prague where she met Carl Ferdinand Cori, with whom she had married in 1920.

In 1922 both emigrated to the United States and in 1947 shared the Medicine and Physiology Nobel with Bernardo Alberto Houssay for her research works about carbon hydrates metabolism and the hormonal influence in sugar and starch interconversion in the organism.
