Françoise Barré-Sinoussi
French virologist, she joined Instituto Pasteur in Paris during the beginning of the 70’s.
She made essential works for the discovery of AIDS virus, with Luc Montaigner, in 1983, so they both received (and sharing with Harald zur Hausen) the Physiology and Medicine Nobel in 2008.
Nowadays she is director of Retroviral Infections Unit in Pasteur, where she collaborates with WHO and developing countries to improve the diagnostic and control AIDS.
