Manuela Juárez Iglesias
Graduated in Chemical Sciences in Universidad de Salamanca she became a doctor in Universidad Complutense de Madrid since 1974.
She is a research professor of CSIC and director of Fundación instituto Madrileño de Estudios Avanzados-IMDEA Alimentación, vice-president of Advisory Committee of Infraestructuras Singulares del Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación, member of Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition, Scientific and Technical Committee of García Cabrerizo Foundation, National Dairy Committee and Scientific Council of Danone Institute.
She has been manager of Programa de Tecnología de Alimentos del Plan Nacional, coordinator of ANEP Food Technology area, director and vice-director of CSIC Instituto del Frío, general subdirector of CSIC Scientific programming, Monitoring and Documentation and vice-president of CSIC Science and Technology.
She has carried out her research activity in CSIC in Food Technology area, with special emphasis on milk lipids and, recently, alternatives to increase the profile of healthy fatty acids of the milk fat.
She was Premio de Investigación de la Fundación CEO in 1996, Honour Medal to Fomento de la Invención de la Fundación García Cabrerizo in 2006, Placa de la Federación de Industrias Lácteas for the dissemination of Valor Nutritivo de la Leche y los Productos Lácteos in 2009 and Premio Internacional Hipócrates de Investigación Médica sobre Nutrición Humana de la Real Academia de Medicina del Principado de Asturias in 2009.
