The PhD student's central topic will be investigating spin qubits in semiconductor quantum dots, which have been proposed as a platform for the quantum computer. 1) Long arrays of quantum dots are investigated as quantum links to transfer quantum information. The applicant will develop theoretical models and simulations to shuttle spin qubits to transfer quantum information. 2) AC-driven electric fields are used to implement qubit operations. The PhD student will investigate the dynamics of electron spins in quantum dots driven by AC electric fields in the presence of spin-orbit interaction. This will allow the implementation of one qubit operation. The PhD student will extend the problem to a qubit coupled to a quantum cavity and investigate the photon-spin coupling in the presence of spin-orbit interaction.
