Processing Functional Ionic-Electronic Devices (PROFUND)

This research group is about different types of functional materials with applications in renewable energy and artificial intelligence. The aim is to prepare effective materials with adequate photoactivity, memory and stability properties, depending on the desired function. This is a multidisciplinary line that combines the models of photoactive and electroactive devices with the formulation and effective construction of the operational devices. We apply different electro-optical techniques that allow us to characterize the dynamic behavior of the systems. Among the applications we have topics of great current interest, such as the hysteresis properties of solar cells, and the construction of memory elements with different material platforms. These elements actuate at synapses and neurons to form computing networks for perception, learning and actuation.
