SP (2018-2021, updated 29 /03/2019)
The Nanoparticles and Nanocomposites Group (www.icmab.es/nn) is currently formed by three researchers, one post-doc, nine PhD students, three MSc students and two undergraduates. Group members have backgrounds in physics, chemistry, nanoscience, biomedicine and biotechnology. The team has to its own credit extended International experience; KTH (Stockholm), Imperial College (London), Harvard and Northeastern Universities (Boston), Saint Gobain Recherche (Paris) and European Commission, DG-Research (Brussels).
Group's activities focus on the controlled and rational synthesis of inorganic nanoparticles, metastable phases and nanocomposites; the study of their structural and functional properties including nano/bio interfaces evaluated in-vivo in the C.elegans model. Our vision is to contribute with new materials to the advance of knowledge to solve some current challenges in the Nanomedicine or the Information Technology sector
