Heterogeneous catalysis and advanced characterisation techniques

The group bases her activity in establishing the structure-activity relationships of the catalytic solids using in situ and operando X-ray by spectroscopic and diffraction methods, that is, by using techniques fundamentally based on synchrotron radiation. These studies (with both temporal and spatial resolution) provide in-depth knowledge of the nature of the active site and the reaction mechanism, allowing the rational design of the active phases and thus optimizing the catalytic performance of materials for each process. Its more specific areas of interest are focused on nano-structured oxides with application in photocatalysis to carry out a series of processes of both decontamination (gas / water) and biocide action. Her experience in the use of a multi-technical approach motivates and stimulates her collaboration with diverse research groups of the same institute or other national and foreign institutions
