Complex Systems
IFISC is organized in a transversal line of research on 'Complex Systems, Nonlinear and Statistical Physics', participated by all permanent researchers, and 5 sublines of transfer to specific cross-disciplinary areas. The 'Complex Systems' group is an ad-hoc entity created to fulfill the constraints of the 'Aplicacion Grupos de Investigación', requiring the groups to be disjoint. The transversal line focus on emergent and collective phenomena in systems composed by many elements from the perspective of nonlinear, statistical and quantum physics, including phenomena such as synchronization, phase transitions, fluctuations or complex networks. The 5 sublines define non-disjoint groups of researchers providing coherence, integration and research bridges. They are: "Transport and Information in Quantum systems", "Nonlinear photonics", "Nonlinear dynamics in fluids", "Biocomplexity", and "Collective phenomena of social and socio-technical systems"
