Bacteriology

The research of our group focuses primarily on two key areas within Phytopathology and Plant Bacteriology. The first line of work is aimed at the identification and characterization of bacteria, with the purpose of developing useful tools for diagnosing plant diseases and identifying those capable of causing diseases in plants. By creating rapid and accurate diagnostic methods, we aim to facilitate early detection and control of these diseases, helping to reduce economic losses and promote more sustainable agricultural practices. The second line of research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of plant-pathogen interactions and unraveling the molecular basis of virulence processes. In all cases, we are deeply committed to translating the results of our research into practical solutions for farmers and agricultural communities.
