Barbara McClintock

She obtained her botanic doctorate in Cornell University in 1927.

Mainly known for her discovery of corn genes can transfer their positions in chromosomes (Genética, 1944) which proved to be of great importance for the understanding of hereditary processes and opened new doors to the possibility for orienting mutations.

She was awarded with Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine.
