PIF2024 - Microeconomic studies of individual decision-making and strategic interaction (PID2023-147136NB-I00)
Our research proposal focuses on a circumscribed range of microeconomic problems and markets, most of them featuring strategic interaction. For some of the problems, the literature already provides useful theoretical frameworks to predict or describe individual behavior. For other problems, we will need to formulate and develop novel theories. We will design and implement controlled experiments to observe and measure economic behavior. By combining theoretical insights with empirical evidence derived from these experiments, we can refine and/or validate economic theories, and ultimately advance our understanding of individual behavior.
