ASFV isolates are biological material, collected from an experimentally infected animal, propageted in cell culture or porcine blood monocytes (PBM) according is described in WOAH Manual of Diagnostic Tests and Vaccines for Terrestrial Animals (Chapter 3.9.1, 2021 Edition).

ASF limit reference serum is intended to be used for quality control as limit reference sera on ASF antibody detection techniques, being used at working dilutions of 1/30 for ASF-WOAH-ELISA and 1/40 for ASF-WOAH-IB and for ASF-EURL-IPT.
Reference material has been inactivated by heat treatment at 56°C for 70 minutes followed by lyophilization.
