JAEPRE23-50. GeSe-based Materials for Performing Thermoelectric Generators (GainTherm)
The main goal of GainTherm is the development of an efficient thermoelectric generator (TEG) based on GeSe. This main goal can be divided into 4 objectives:
1. To develop p-type and n-type GeSe-based materials (GeSe and GeSeBi) using electrodeposition in films and nanostructures.
2. To obtain the structural, compositional, morphological, and optical properties of the GeSe-based materials and their relation with the electrodeposition conditions (electrolyte, temperature, reduction potential, etc.).
3. To obtain the thermoelectric properties of the GeSe-based films and nanostructures and understand how they change with the previous properties.
4. To produce a TEG (n-type and p-type) with a maximum output power density.
The main challenges of the project are the growth of the materials using electrodeposition and understand the physics behind the thermoelectric properties related to the growth conditions.
